Prof. Emeritus Uri Shamir, the founder and first director of Grand Water Research Institute (GWRI), has been chosen as a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Prof. Shamir was chosen in recognition of his achievements as an educator and leader in the research and development of policy, decision making, management, and engineering of water systems.
